The Tullyear Flock was established in 1986 with the purchase of two Females from the Broomhill Flock of John and Andrew Mackie. Over the years selected Charollais have been imported from France and the UK to generate new bloodlines What started as a small diversification from milking cows has now grown to become a major enterprise of its own, the Flock now comprising seventy five senior ewes and twenty five hogget ewes. Although numbers have grown this has not been at the expense of quality. The policy has always been to breed sheep maintaining the character of their French origin with good conformation, tight skin and big ends.
The Tullyear Flock has had many highs over the years but the icing on the cake had to be winning the National Flock Competition this year 2005
